wake up, wake up!

I learned something today.
lawn mower
I awoke this morning to the sound of my neighbor mowing his yard: quite possibly the sweetest alarm I've heard in months. Just one more sign that spring is around the corner... It's been a long winter and this girl has a serious case of cabin fever!

  3. This morning, before sunrise, the birds started singing. Even tho we (DC) probably have another 2 + weeks of iffy weather to go, the birds tell me that spring is here.

  5. oh yes, me too! i can't stand the noise of leaf blowers -- something about the high pitched whine just undoes me -- but the steady hum of lawnmowers is such a reassuring sound to me!

  6. Just the thought that somewhere in the northern hemisphere someone can actually use a lawnmower gives me hope that Spring will come again.

Here, I am still waking to the sound of kamakazee snow removers (which in Montreal seem to get rewarded for mangling bikes, cars, fences, people...)

  7. Lawn mowers????!!!! Wow! I live in upstate NY...which means we have at least another month of this white stuff. It was freezing today with bitter winds. A few days ago we had a blizzard and I thought it was a blessing to hear my neighbor's snow blower! He was clearing my driveway for me! :)
