my tiny messy studio
I strongly dislike drawing with pencils. I would say hate, but my mom taught me never to use this word. I dislike drawing with pencils for two reasons. 1) They smudge. I do not care for the smudge factor. Some artists know how to work with it, make it add to their drawing, I don't. 2) They are erasable. If a medium is erasable, it makes one strive for perfection, accuracy. This in turn limits the spontaneity that I feel makes me produce the best, most authentic work.
However, today I put my feelings aside and worked in none other than pencil. This blog is all about expanding my borders. So if this means smudging and erasing, I guess that I'll have to be ok with that.

I just love your studio! Where did you find that little gadget that holds all your pencils?
I know how you feel about the smudiness! I put a small piece of greaseproof paper (you might call it cookie sheet paper?)under my hand when drawing.
