In "The Creative License" Danny Gregory encourages us to not only draw, but also to journal about the things we draw. I've always liked to write, but for some reason this is difficult for me. I feel like my thoughts are rather silly as I think of the most random things when drawing. In turn, sharing this makes me a little self-conscious. But regardless, this experiment in blogging is all about pushing myself to do more, to be a better artist...and if this helps, so be it.

I like the random blue background and the scratchiness of the line. I really want an ipod, but it's just to look at - I am rarely in a situation where I can tune out.
I like this drawing a lot--it's almost an abstract design with all the details, lines and shapes. I also appreciate the reminder about writing in one's sketchbook. I really enjoyed reading what you wrote and would love to read more so keep it up!
Still trying to make the time to do this myself. Meanwhile I'll keep slipping over here to admire your progress :)
I feel the same way about journaling on the same page as my drawing... but it's more beacuse I'm afraid my handwriting will look crappy or that I'll make a mistake and it'll ruin the image. Apparently I have some "issues" I need to work on. : )
The journalling and drawing look great! The looseness of the lines and freedom in your script go together perfectly! I have an mp3 player, too, not an ipod! I drew it while sitting at a fast food place while the kids played one day.
Pushing your comfort boundaries is a good thing! Blessings!
Thank you for allowing yourself to feel self-concious, putting your personal work and words out there and being vulnerable. It's good for you, and it makes me want to stretch myself!
Julie- I actually did make a spelling mistake with this one! Turns out I don't know how to spell compatible. Luckily, my boyfriend caught it and I was able to photoshop it before the www saw it!
your handwriting is super graphic. I love this one.
