my favorites: joni mitchell - blue

This drawing is a mess... If you want a challenge, try drawing Joni Mitchell's Blue; for real. About halfway through I started to switch the order of the cds and put this one on the bottom of the stack just so I wouldn't have to draw it...but I couldn't, this one is my favorite. From start to finish it is what my friend Sarah deems a "complete album." There are certain cds I gravitate to at particular times. This is my painting cd; a dear friend.

Oh, and if you want to listen to the music on any of my favorite cds, just click on the title and it will link you to it on Amazon. Unfortunately, Amazon also has a photo of this cd so you can see just how awful my drawing really is :(

Suzanne, your CD series is getting better. And i think you've done Joni Mitchell a favor -- she looks better here than, well, in reality :-)

You've got a wonderful set of sketches here on you blog. This recent illo looks great.

Did you hear about the Monet in Normandy Gallery in North Carolina? I just missed the San Francisco showing...sold out! Argg.

No, no, this is a fabulous illustration! I LOVE Joni but my fave is Hejira - I listen to it all the time, it's almost perfect!(Song for Sharon and Hejira are works of art IMO!) I'm going to get Blue out and give it an airing now!

Suzanne, another great picture. My favourite is actually Court & Spark... most of the time... I think! Also love Blue, Hejira..For the Roses? Hissing of Sumer Lawns?? Ok I can't decide but it is a great picture. Thanks for leaving a message on my new blog - I feel quite starstruck when getting messages from you, Felicity etc. I've been visiting your blogs for some time and think they are amazing. Cheers!

A Joni fan here, too. Y'all mentioned my faves: Court & Spark, Hejira, and Blue. Your CD stack with JM on top is great! Wonderful series you've got going on. I'm just not up on the more contemporary stuff (gettin' old...).
