my favorites: melissa etheridge - skin

Its difficult for me to pick a favorite Melissa Etheridge song, let alone album. I feel all of her music so deeply and for different reasons. Take the album "Your Little Secret" for instance. This cd got me through a breakup with my first love. I don't know how many times I listened to the songs "Change" and "I Want To Come Over." (Ah, what its like to be a girl!) I like her latest album "Lucky" for completely different reasons. It's happy. I love to listen to this one of the treadmill. It really pumps me up.

"Skin" centers around breaking up, finding one's own identity and moving on. Among my favorite songs on this cd are the aggressive "Lover Please," the mellow "Down to One," and hopeful "I Want to Be in Love." But, of course, the whole album is great.

Hi. I was just browsing around and found your blog. I really, really like Melissa Etheridge as well. I like your sketches too. I'm an artist as well. Laters...

Oh Suzanne -- here's a really cool idea: drawing and journaling about albums. I love your renditions of the covers and knowing more about your musical tastes in the process.

Love these - what a great idea! I can't believe you're still cranking out sketches when you're buried with work. I had to take a petite vacance from my blog to finish up my senior project (all done - woo hoo!).

Oh, this is a great drawing Suzanne. I can totally relate. "Like the Way I Do" and "Similar Features" got through my breakup. :)
