These are part of a big page of sketches I did back in the summer. I can't say for sure, but I'm imagining Pokey looks so sad because his bowls are empty.
oh, to answer your question, other than the first page (sept 28) which is yvonne reading at the bookstore, everything else is made up. i try and mix up life drawings with the things i am just feeling at the time. but mostly, when i draw from life, its usually objects because people rarely stay still unless they are reading or asleep.
i use to just draw people on the run. i would do this at the train station and airport. that was also fun. id like to do it again but my schedule has of late doesnt allow things :(
