avoiding wigging-out

To quote Crack Skull Bob, "Yep, I'm in a rut."

I am so overwhelmed with school work these days I have having a difficult time focusing on anything. Or, at least until it's time to go to bed and then all I can do is focus on all that needs to be done and I can't sleep. I don't know if it is this way for other creatives or not, but the more I have to do, the more the stress piles on and the less I am capable of achieving. Times like this I just want to crawl in a little warm hole...or better yet, under the covers with Pokey.

I pray that God will grant me the ability to get it together and not wig-out.

I started stressing huge my last semester of college, until I got myself a big $2 desk calendar. It's the kind from office depot made of tear off paper, and you fill in the date for your month. I wrote down all of my scheduled things, and suddenly everything had a place and a time when I could get to it all. It was a lifesaver for me, because I couldn't organize it all in head well enough. Just seeing it all written out told me where my free time was, and when I needed to plan my workload.

Maybe something like that can help you too.

Suzanne...I know exactly what you mean. I saw a quote recently that I love, that I think applies to this type of situation, and I thought I'd share:

"We cannot do everything at once, but we can do something at once."
Calvin Coolidge

Even when you are stressed and have so much work on - you still manage to come up with a great sketch. It's not fair!!!

It's tough when you're so tired and stressed and need sleep more than ever and just can't sleep. The stapler looks so distraught in the angle you've drawn it and it's interesting that you picked a stapler--something that holds things together--to draw.

I second your prayer and hope that you're having a better day today. Just remember that you don't have to be perfect to be wonderful.
