venice part 2: basking in the sunshine
I drew this scene standing halfway up on the Rialto Bridge. I remember thinking at the time that life could get no more perfect. There I was doing the things I love the most: drawing and traveling. It was also a beautiful day. The sun was dancing on the water and I was soaking in its warmth. It felt like spring.
Two American guys stood beside me for a bit while I was sketching. Normally I don't feel comfortable having someone watching over my shoulder, but on this day I didn't mind at all. It felt good to be able to talk and sketch. I felt free.

GREAT sketch of Venice; isn't it interesting how we get a bit more relaxed when drawing around stranger when we're AWAY from home? I also love the WC sketch of your student -- great linework!
such a perfect little sketch! I love this :)
Great sketch -- using that charcoal pencil I see. I'm envious of your trip; what a wonderful opportunity. I can't wait to see more!
and a perfect sketch it is - the lines so completely free and Your total command of the view so relaxed ( I have some trouble finding the right words, it's because of enthusiasm!).
Top of the world!!
