It's funny how some days you got it and other days you just don't. We took our drawing class outside for three hours this morning. I spent the entire time drawing and I don't have a single thing worth posting. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.
In the meantime, I've been reading a great book called "On-The-Spot Drawing." It's an oldie (circa 1976) but a goodie. In it twelve famous illustrators describe their materials and working methods on location. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to work more out in public or who enjoys seeing a variety of ways of dealing with similar subject matter. It's great.
So far, the person I've enjoyed reading the most about is Tracy Sugarman, a reportorial illustrator. His ability to capture a moment is amazing. He not only draws a beautiful picture, but he also tells a story. I want to be more like him.
Interestingly, I also just discovered that Tracy recorded his experience during WWII in drawings he sent home to his wife. Check out more about this here.

Thanks for the book link Susan - will definitely look it up :) Hope you have a better drawing day tomorrow!
What a great link! The whole american soldier history project is fascinating!
On the whole "spending hours outside sketching and having nothing to post" issue: maybe it's the SKIRT. Maybe we're better off just drawing in pants. :-)
Thanks for the book recommendation.
And by the way, i am sure that what you deem not worthy of posting most likely kicks arse.
I can't imagine you having any bad drawings but it's sort of reassuring to know - sorry! ;) (I'm glad I'm not the only one!)
