good feelings

I feel so fortunate to have really terrific clients...clients that allow me to be creative and have fun. One of my very best clients is also my hairdresser. When Abbey asked me to make her some new business cards she gave me no guidelines. In the same way I trust her when I'm in her chair, she trusts me when it comes to making stuff. This is a good feeling. With this design I wanted to reflect her love of vintage and her whimsical personality.

This is wonderful. It just looks so fresh! If you're client is smart, she'll commission you to do a series of posters along the same lines to decorate her salon.

Nancy- I had no idea I was stalking you :) I'd really love to see your pictures!

Thank you Margarida. You have the best name. I love it.

Karen- This is a great idea. I might just have to talk to Abbey about it... I also think it would be fun to do a series of girls for the cards...perhaps introduce a new one every month or so. Hey, maybe they could be traded like baseball cards!?!?!

Ooooooooh!! I LOVE love it. I am a real vintage fan myself and this really floats my boat. How did you create this?? It's fabulous. I would have been chuffed with this for a business card. Very cool.

So fun! You see... this is why I want to talk to you about doing some work for my interior design business... because you totally get it! (I sent you an email about it yesterday... hopefully it arrived... would love to chat re: a DM project).

Thanks! Great work!

Andrea- I began this project by visiting a really cool vintage clothing store here in town for inspiration. I flipped through some old magazines for images, but the winner came from an old dress pattern. I was lucky enough to find this girl who looks a little like Abbey.

I love the her vintage look, you captured it perfectly, the little hair flip, the pert little nose. I bet she's an airline stewardess and has a really cute boyfriend.

It's fantastic Suzanne! I think the poster idea would be great.

Delightful! Is that her image on the card? She looks like a fun and charming person. How lucky you are to have a trusted hairdresser and such a great client (and she's certainly lucky to have you as her designer!)
