Funny, Suzanne, i guess you felt about drawing these as i felt about my tacky drawing of the kid :-) I like this very much, it's very matter-of-fact, yet those holes look like two asymmetrical eyes staring at us.
Great drawing...strange how some subjects just can't inspire you and then the most unexpected ones, bring out the most creative in you, or maybe it just dpends on your mood and the day.. Ronell
lovely drawing. but i do know you can get bored ... sometimes i wanna go take some photographs and i think, oh no, what can i shoot, there's only the beaches and the lakes and the farming country i have done all that ...i guess we can all get jaded.
You have a gift for choosing just the right approach for each subject. For instance, the crisp, graphic quallity of this piece works very well for a tool like scissors. The texture in the handles gives it interest yet it's not so literal that it is in conflict with the style. In contrast, the softer, looser lines and washes in your breakfast sketch are the perfect for a bowl of cereal. It's very intelligent and inspiring work.

For something that you didn't feel too inspired about -- I think the drawing is fantastic!

Such a simple yet excellent drawing. Love the comp...and your trademark dots.
