I could have sworn that "draw your breakfast" was an EDM challenge, but it seems it isn't. I guess lunch and dinner are more important...hmm.
I've started rereading "The Creative License" as I want to incorporate Danny's ideas into my drawing class this semester. One of the themes of the book that has touched me the most is how drawing gives us the opportunity to examine and appreciate the smallest, simplest and often-ignored details in life. Unfortunately, this is something I've drifted away from a little lately, but something I'm definitely want to focus on more...starting with breakfast.

Ah, my kind of breakfast!! This is so well done I think you should suggest it as a challenge. And then you are done.
Hey - that looks like _my_ breakfast too! I am loving the berries this season. Great sketch.
Creative License is my favorite book. I always find it inspirational and go back to it when I loose my way.
My kindda breakfast is liquid format and full of caffeine but yours looks good enough to eat!
I thought breakfast was an EDM too!
Drawing breakfast...I have to try this one.
Yessss. I sometimes find myself flipping through Danny's book in order to bring me back to why it had struck me in the first place. That attention to the little details, to the "undrawable" (yes, tonight, it's a word!) is the good stuff.
Love the yummy drawing.
Mmm this looks yummy! I think I will have to try this combination!
And the book sounds good, I will add it to my list.
If any of you are in North Carolina anytime soon, I'd be more than happy to fix you a bowl :)
Annie- Definitely get this book...it has totally shaped my perspective on drawing.
heh heh, I just did that last night, I drew my dishes after I ate supper. :)
damn this is good. i wish i would draw like this sometimes. i know that i'd start hatching and shading and adding more and more detail - when really the drawing doesn't need it. i love the way you know when to stop. just great.
Yum! I just went through the same thing tonight. I could have sworn there was a "draw a feather" challenge but when I checked the list: no feather! So much great stuff on your blog to catch up on. I love the Pokey drawings, especially the grumpy Pokey. What an adorable creature he is. Also your ?? spice is hilarious!
I love the way you develop a deep, personal realtionship with a thing when you draw it, whether it's a shoe or a skyscraper. You can't ever look at it in the same way again.
