Today I had an epiphany. Taking a cue from the classic line in
Field of Dreams... "
If you build it, he will come"... I've developed my own "mantra": "If you draw it, it will come." In this case "it" is an
Eames Molded Plastic Side Chair...a chair I loooooove. Ahhh...
If this type of wishful thinking works for Kevin Costner, surely it should work for me. Shouldn't it?!?

Eames chairs are so beautiful and simple. I hope they show up at your table really soon.
Well, I asked on my blog in February, about rain, "If I paint it, will it come?" And it did! So maybe it'll start raining Eames chairs where you are ;D.
I saw a photo of those in one of the magazines I was reading...sooo cool! And one can wish - at least that's what Julia Cameron says to do: ask it of the universe and you just may be pleasantly surprised. ;)
By the way, what media did you use for your drawing?
i want one tooooooooooooooo l not one, at least four l
ooooo - will you draw one for me too?? Those are in my dream dining room too (but make mine that sort of weird mustardy green please? thanks!) :D
This is one i love to drool over as well. But heck, if i could sketch it like you just did, i would be pretty happy!
Dear Suzanne,
what a beautiful sketch! I always visit your blog -- I agree with Teresa: I wish you could write at the end of every post what media do you use, like Nina Johansson's blog... she always write some comments like in the last post: "micro pen and diluted ink / waterbrush on Arches Satinne watercolour paper"
I would help us begginers a lot!
Keep posting your dreams! all the best
Sorry, I mean: "It would help us beginners"
Gorgeous,simple,stunning!
Try wishing on a star, too...that works for me sometime...:)
Wow, great drawing of such a classic design.
These would also look great around my dining room table in my newly renovated mid-century modern ranch, but now I am out of money...
OK, Suzanne, here's my story about that. Last year, after our dear dog Ramona went to the great fire hydrant in the sky, my husband developed his OWN mantra: "I never want another dog. Never." He was ADAMANT, and it wasn't the he was mourning. He really thought owning a dog is just too much work.
It was frightening to me, a dog lover, but I hung back and said nothing for many months. The girls did some nudging, but gently, and still he was firm.
Around the first of January, I bought myself a new wall calendar for work, with the idea, "If you hang it, it will come." Now it's true that it is a calendar filled with pictures of DACHSHUNDS (the breed I had as a kid, and a breed that I know Carlo has admired), and it is true that we do not have a dachshund to show for it. But two weeks into the new year, Carlo met a pair of Newfoundlands that were expecting a litter, fell in love, SUGGESTED WE GET ONE (I was stunned), and 9 weeks later we picked up our dear baby dog, Pearl Marie.
True, she's not a dachshund. But I say draw those chairs, baby ...
I hope your wonderful sketch does the trick and draws those chairs into your reality. I believe it works ~ :)
It usually works for me... either writing or drawing what I want, since you did both it should be extra powerful.
Love the new (to me) photo of the moleskines at the top of your blog. Very cool design/layout!
I do think art can be very powerful that way. Good luck...just be careful wishing for things and including Kevin Costner in the wish message to the universe...you might accidentally get Kevin instead!
