Welcome to my house. Please make yourself at home and stay as long as you like. Please let me know if you need anything.
In the past few years Edgar and I have splurged on few mid-century furniture pieces (yum!) for the house (still waiting on a couch, by the way). It is something we both love and appreciate. This gets me to wondering what is it that you splurge on? Is there something that gives you such delight that you can look past its price and buy it? Also, if money was suddenly no option, what would be your first purchase?

Lovely drawing. I splurge on vintage and unique items at fleamarkets. If money was no option, the first home item I would buy is a fabulous couch, and a good piece of art.
What a beautiful drawing of your home! Is it really as Architectural Digest as it seems? :)
If money were no object, I'd buy a gorgeous Japanese style platform bed, a better desk (we have this ug-a-ly 80s thing handed down from my BIL), and new mirrors for all the bathrooms...for starters!
I splurge on good food...lovely, exotic, beautiful fresh food that will become some amazing creation in the hands of my husband or myself. Or some fantastic restaurant. The big events in my life always have something to do with food. The most memorable events are always accompanied by a great meal...and often a great bottle of wine ;)
Very cool drawing and nice to see you back! ;-)
I'd splurge on an slr camera and hardwood floors.
Lovely inviting home via your sketch - Hummm - my splurges flucuate it seems. lately it is art supplies from all over the place.
Awesome drawing!
and i know exactly what I would psend my money on...THE BED. It's not just any bed. It's the one I have wanted for the 8 (yes eight years). Someday...someday soon.
Again aweseome drawing, love the Eames chair.
Very nice illustration. I appreciate the tour of your livingroom. What's the story on the dead plant to the left? :-)

Hee,hee...good one Rick! That's not a dead plant though, but rather my attempt at preventing dead plants. See here: http://suzannebuchanan.blogspot.com/2008/01/edm-challenge-something-china-or.html
I'm loving hearing about your splurges! Keep it up!
This is a great drawing ... drawing interiors is really hard! If price were not an issue, I would buy time ... I would quit my day job!
Love the Eames chair! What a tasteful interior, what a refreshing break from the ubiquitous faux-country Americana shite.
Love your drawing, too. It looks like you were using your Copic markers with colored pencils. Hmmm. Very nice.
Great to see your home Suzanne! It's beautiful. I would also love to sit in the Eames, they make me happy too :)
If money were no obstacle - I would buy all Danish designer furniture from the 50's I could find - or Finnish 60's textile... Lay me down in the pile and just dream away
As always, a super super drawing!
Love love love this drawing. Love it. I want more of these. MORE!!!
The Eames chairs are gorgeous. A great purchase.
I have a list of things, as long as my arm, that I'll buy when I'm rich. Mostly though, I would like a couple of suits made from Saville Row. Something in tweed (oh, I love tweed). A green Harris tweed. And perhaps a pin stripe. Definately, that's what I'll do when I'm rich.
Wonderful drawing of your home. I also collect mid-century modern pieces, including that same Eames chair. Curious, I think I have that same couch, which has turned into a giant pet bed!
Hello Suzanne-
found my way to you from Sketch of the Day.
I love your work, your spirit and your writing!
I will be sure to visit often.
Thanks for inviting us in-I love the living room! I'm curious as to the rest of house now! The Eames chair is gorgeous.
At this point in my life, I'd splurge on a house. A nice sized (not too big) house with a room dedicated solely to making art and clearing my head. It would be brick, built in the early 1900's, and it wouldn't need too much work-pretty much move-in condition. They're around here, but with all those specifications, they're WAY out of our price range. But it's nice to dream (and eventually find some variation of that dream that we can afford!)
And it's good to see your drawing bug is back!
Hi Suzanne, love your site, We have the same chair at home and I love sitting in it also, surprisingly comfortable for a wood chair. great drawings, I'm thinking about drawing my studio now.
That couch looks really comfortable, I can see myself snoozing on it already!
If money was no object, I'd buy a house! But of course it is so I bought a custom made couch from Canada. Pretty bluish green microfiber (in the exact same style as your couch btw!). You and Edgar are welcome to visit to sit on my couch and share some Kona coffee or some Volcano wine! :)
Spectacular and comfy and the same time! Delightful drawing! Have you seen the new Eames U.S. postal stamps yet? They are right "up your ally" LOL :)
