It's a perfect rainy day here. Perfect for going back to sleep.
Hope my students don't have the same idea...Luckily, it's also a perfect day for watercolor. As I was experimenting with adding color to this sketch this morning I kept thinking about one of my very favorite illustrators, Quentin Blake. WWQBD? I was also reminded of these videos of Blake working in his studio. You've simply gotta check them out. So brilliant.

Oh how fun - yes very rainy today - I just want to sleep! The arcade project sounds great - can't wait to hear what they do!
Thanks for the link! I'd love to check them out. We're very fond of Blake's work in both The Phantom Tollbooth and a recent reissue of Roald Dahl's children's books.
A little late maybe - but a big congratulation to your wedding!
spontaneous work here... and wow quentin blake is definitely one of of my favorites!! he brings dahl's stories brilliantly wickedly to life!! thanx for the links to blake's stuff!! :)
Lovely sketch and great link. I adore QB too.
I've probably mentioned this before, but sometime ago, I won a signed QB book in a drawing competition and the final quote of the book is "but then, when you start drawing you can never be quite sure what is going to happen next, can you?". How cool is that? I'll rememeber that quote forever. And take great comfort from it too.
Haha! I had a "What would Danny Gregory do" moment myself the other night :-)
I love your touches of negative space -- something i am really sucky at.
How nice to see a Quentin Blake reference. "The Story of the Dancing Frog" is my favorite kids' book.
this is wonderful.
are you familiar with the work of Jane irish?
cheers.
