The final assignment for my first year drawing class was to create a booklet about peanuts. Yep, peanuts. Each student was to fill the book with drawings of the famous legume exploring the various types of drawing we covered this semester (i.e. blind contour, negative space, orthographics...) Some students went above and beyond including "extra" drawings like this funny one of my teaching colleagues and me by
Allison Wilson. I like seeing how few additions were needed to turn a peanut into a professor...in my case red shoes and a sketchbook. See more of Allison's work at
her blog.

Cool assignment! It's a good challenge. I may have to find something in the house to explore over and over throughout the year. *wheels turning* Thanks!
Cute peanut people too!
