just add crackers

In case you're wondering : mechanically separated chicken, beef tripe, water, salt, mustard, natural flavors, garlic powder, vinegar, destrose, sodium erythorbate, sodium nitrate...yikes. And my parents let me eat this!?! It's a wonder I didn't "mechanically separate" somewhere along the way...or perhaps I have...

I've never tried it? The can design reminds me of SPAM. Great black and white sketch!

I echo Gerald's comment on the sketch but I also love the way you incorporated your comment calligraphy as part of you whole image.

I know! I used to love that stuff too. Makes me shudder just thinking about it now. I love the calligraphy in the sketch too and how you used different sized pens to emphasize the text. :)

I got as far as 'mechanically separated chicken' and not remember why I went vegetarian.

Spam definitely has mechanically separated meats...I remember a friend of mind reading the can and shuddering. That said, I still miss Spam. I've never heard of Potted Meat though.

You're so funny! Definitely not mechanically separated yet!

What the heck is 'potted meat'?

I'm guessing from the comments it's like Spam? I'm going to have to have a look and see if it's available in Australia. (Not to eat of course, but curiosity being what it is...)

LOL! My brother had a thing for Vienna Sausages. I kept telling him they were nothing more than Potted Meat Product shaped into a weiner. He said that was fine, at least they looked more edible :)

Nasty! Mechanically separated...I can't think of anything more repulsive! But your interpretation of it is darling, of course;)

As an American, I would like to dispute that "America's Favorite" part. My mom used to try to push this deviled ham on us when we were kids. It was also canned meat, and could be eaten wih crackers or as a sandwich.

I wonder what foods my chidren will be horrified by when they grow up?

there are only two ways to eat it, fried and stir fried with rice, veggies, and little shrimp... oh wait that's SPAM... or are they the same? Great image!

Nice drawing although it gave me a shiver when I thought about eating that stuff and deviled ham (whatever that means) when I didn't know any better....

Oh yuck! Is it similar to Spam? I have yet to try that too.
