rounding the corner

This has been a year of milestones for our little family and yesterday marked yet another: Edgar became a U.S. Citizen.  Knowing that Edgar has worked toward this goal his entire adult life, nearly 15 years, I do not have the words to express my happiness for him or describe what this day means.

Yay Edgar!! Although I have to admit, for a split second (before I finished reading) I was hoping it was baby news.....

Congrats to Edgar but I want to comment on those magnificent photos! The top one is a wonderful flurry of movement and the second is as poignant as a Life Magazine cover. They made my heart beat just a little faster.

Haha Jax---no such luck there...that's one milestone we're going to need to wait a little longer on :)

Sheila--Thank you so much for your comment about the photos. I do not consider myself to be a photographer in the least and I was very disappointed when we left the ceremony yesterday and I felt as though I hadn't gotten any "good" photos (or drawings). But, when I loaded the photos onto my computer this morning I was pleasantly surprised by these two.

Allie, Annie--Thank you for your kind words!

Congrats to Edgar! I became a US citizen several years back (2004), but I kept telling people I'm Canadian. Thank goodness for the 2008 elections! ;)

Congratulations to Edgar! I was naturalized when my Mom became a citizen many, many years ago. Such a wonderful milestone.

Awesome blog. I came to it via The Pioneer Woman. I love checking in and seeing what new sketches you have posted.
