Here's Patrick's look at Monticello. Beautiful work, don't you think?
And mine of Fallingwater (taking inspiration from woodblock prints of Hokusai). I've never been and sooo look forward to being able to sketch this architectural feat from life.
On another note, thank you for your sweet comments on yesterday's post. Some entries are more important to me than others, and this one definitely ranks near the top.

You're going to LOVE Falling Water. We went through during our honeymoon, and it's one of our fond memories. It was also fun to hear about Frank Lloyd Wright's controlling tendencies (to say it kindly) ... he designed clothing for the people to wear while in the house he designed, he bolted furniture to the floor so that room arrangements could not be altered, etc. Needless to say, he believed in his vision...
Oh wow, I just came across the post with the article on Edgar today. Absolutely wonderful-I got a little choked up! What a beautiful story! Speaking of beautiful, great wedding photo too!
Might I also add that I am jealous of your architectural field trips? If you happen to notice an unfamiliar "student" in your group, you'll know I snuck on the trip!
Living in Illinois, I get to experience a lot of Wright's most amazing work... and I just read a fun historical novel about him called, "Loving Frank" -- in which there are many, many references to his love of Hokusai pieces... you might like it! Let me know if you'd like me to send it to you.
BTW - amazing drawings, too!
