men are from mars, women like rugs

A couple of weeks ago Edgar drew our living room from memory:

our living room : edgar

I loved his axonometric view and decided to do my own:

our living room : suzanne

I find interesting the things Edgar remembered to include that I didn't --- namely surround-sound speakers, Reilly's bed and air vents...

Also note what I added that he didn't --- window treatments, rugs, pillows, Reilly and Pokey (flat as a pancake)...

Different priorities perhaps?!?

that is very interesting. he has the side table by the door, while you have the coffee table. i like both sketches.

What fun! And you appear to switch out the chair by the door, too.

Very interesting to see the differences! It's a bit like that game "memory" you play as a kid where you see a picture for a short time and then have to remember as many things as possible from it. I am going to have to try this. Except our living room is so cluttered it will probably take me about a week.

What a great experiment on understanding each other too! I'll have to log this one away for a counselling resource - tanks!

I liked noticing the differences and the first thing that caught my eye in yours were the doggies only I thought they were stuffed toys!

I love how both images are of the same reality but two totally different paradigms! It is really eye opening when you think about it. What we think everyone sees isn't necessarily what we 'see.'

What is funny is that is probably what the outcome of my husband and I would draw...if he could draw that is.

Haha, I love it! But just imagine being gay and having to remember ALL of it!!! It is so romantic and sweet that you two do stuff like this, and I'm sure you're one of the few people I know that could understand that!
