Stop one on our tour : Thomas Jefferson's beloved home, Monticello.
I started to remove my little note at the bottom of this drawing in Photoshop. But then I began to wonder for whom I would be doing it. Certainly not for me...it's these little moments, the conversations, the memories that I cherish most as I look back at the sketches. Sure, the drawing might be 'prettier' without the privy conversation...but would it be any more accurate? I think not.

How beautiful! I've never been, and now I want to. I love it all, but the colors of the people walking around make me happy.
I agree. It's so much more personal with that little comment on the sketch. And "personal" is one reason I love your blog. Wow, I need to visit Monticello someday.
This is a beautiful sketch! The watercolor is fabulous. The funny little things we write on drawings help bring back the memories of the moment. That's why I do it too.
I have been pootling around here and had to stop by to say I LOVE YOUR STUFF! I also have an extremely strong opinion about privy conversations on sketches. Like random notes jotted in margins of books, or a shopping list scrawled on a ticket stubb - TREASURE, I say!
