It used to be that I would go hang out in a restaurant or coffee shop, sketchbook in hand, at least once, if not two or three times a week. In fact, most of this blog's early content consisted of little else.
Becoming a mother changed that. In the time since the babies have been born, I'm hardly ever alone...and even less, out sketching. Yesterday was a particularly exhausting day around our house, prompting Edgar to ask if I wanted to have a 'Girl Night Out' while he had a 'Boys Night In'. I have the freedom to do this most any night, but just the suggestion was a wonderful gesture. So, just like old times, last night I went on a date with my sketchbook, a goodie-filled magazine and my old friend, Panera Bread.

Oh good for you! Its so impt tomtakena little you time. And I love Panera's.
That sounds so nice and I'm sure it helped you restore your batteries! lol - love your drawing:)
Love that graphic! Did you do it yourself?! So amazing!
Duh you did it yourself. Sorry for that, blonde moment, haha. You're so talented!
I am very familiar with those dates-with-self at Panera! But I could never sketch it as prettily as you do!

Great! Glad you could take the time out for you! I had several hours at the barn today with no deadline ...no having to look at my watch because I had to be somewhere. Heaven.
You need those nights out to recharge and connect with your creative self. Some people prefer spas, but I'd value a couple hours of free time anyday! (of course, I've never been to a spa, but imagine I'd be thinking, " I could've been drawing!") Your magazine looks interesting, too!
That is such a cool artwork! I love Panera and love that you enjoyed it by yourself with your sketchbook :)
I need to do this too. Such a good reminder. Although if I took my "sketchbook" it would like more like a Kindergarders homework. Ha.
LOVE your sketches...keep it up:).
Looks nice^_^
