our color story

I'm happy to share that after hours spent staring at paint swatches, analyzing the differences between 'Tame Teal' and 'Aquaduct', we've finally settled on the color palette for the walls of our house. Yay! One task crossed off the list, only 5,426 more to go. Good thing we love doing this!
our color story
In case you're wondering, we're not completely abandoning the brighter colors of our inspiration images. But, in an effort to avoid having it look as though a clown or Easter bunny (you take your pick) exploded in our house, we're reserving the bolder hues for furniture and accessories.

We meant to get started painting this past weekend, but only got so far as taping up half the living room. In the words of Patrick Starfish, tomorrow for sure!

Your Lake Country looks very similar to the Wedgewood Grey Benjamin Moore color we used, and LOVE, in our living room. Your whole palatte is beautiful-post some photos, post-paint, if you can!

Love the colors! If you removed the blues and added reds, you'd have the colors in my house (with reds reserved for stuff, not walls). Looks fabulous with blues, though. Picking paint is always both exciting and frustrating for me... I can love it on the swatch and then get it on the walls and wonder what the heck I was thinking. I always test carefully, now.

I love the colors. Those are similar to the colors that are going in our bedroom (with the exception of bosporus). I am considering painting our bedroom walls something similar to your Anjou Pear. Our furniture will be something like your Black Fox. The other colors will be in the bed linens.

I've been putting off painting for months, but now I'm going to steal your palette and get to work!

*LOVE* the 3 first colors!
Taping is (to me) the worst part in the painting process.

I love these colors and your plan sounds right on. It's very close to the palette you were looking at earlier.

Taping takes the most time, but it's so worth it. Have fun with the painting.

These color choices look extremely peaceful to me.

What a lovely color scheme! I especially love "bosporus." I can't wait until I have my own home (not an apartment) so I can paint the walls. :) I never thought of planning out a color scheme ahead of time though, even though it totally makes sense. Thanks for the inspiration!

We did the neighboring color to anjou pear in our LR at the last house and loved it. Seeing it with the black fox above reminded me of your photo of (i think this is right) bathroom tiles from somewhere? You're on your way to making it a home. Congrats!

Love, love, love the color palette! AND I love how you presented them! Such a great look! Can I get you to divulge your secret? I can see where applying this color demonstration treatment to a virtual design board would be so impressive! Thank you! :-)
