national stationery show prep work

As the our first trade show nears (six and a half weeks and counting) our house is a flutter of activity...drawing, painting, computer-ing, photoshoots, catalogs, booth construction and deconstruction.  It's a lot of work and we aren't exactly getting our beauty rest, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

 

And, as always, our interns are at the forefront (and foot) of all we do!

I'm on spring break this week, which means I'm getting to spend some quality time at home in my studio. This morning I'm having fun listening to NPR and working on a special project for some special friends. I'll be sure to share more details as they....grow.

Please excuse my singing, but while just a few days I thought I was an elf in Santa's workshop, today I can't help feeling like Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music; I have 28 beautiful little bundles of stationery going in the mail this afternoon!!!! Isn't it time to get yours?

a halloween of mice and men

Believe it or not, there really is a reason for why I've kept going on and on about mice for the last few weeks. It all had to do with the invitations to Addie's and my Halloween Party this past Saturday.

Mice in the mail...just too good to pass up. Just look at them, ready to be shipped...aren't they cute? :)

sneak peek

I couldn't sleep a wink last night for two reasons: 1) I couldn't find my brain's off switch and 2) Pokey's asthma attacks. The poor puppy is allergic to almost everything outside! After about an hour of tossing, turning and trying to comfort "the beagle," I decided to get up and put some of my excess energy to work in the studio. (This is definitely one of the nicest things about working from home.)


So, around 4 this morning I finished up these cards, part of a new nature series I am working on. These sets are going to my lovely sisters, but I hope to be producing a lot more really soon...AND, cross your fingers, perhaps set up an Etsy shop in which to sell them. Stay tuned...

where are my elves?

Sometimes I feel a tad bit like Santa in his workshop. I've got parts and pieces of projects all around me, waiting to be put together into something magical. Today that something was a collection of baby shower invitations my friend Megan asked me to make for her sister. Megan wanted the card to be sophisticated and slightly retro. We began the process by looking through her sister's old photo album for inspiration and found it! The photo of Kelly, as a baby, was a perfect starting point for this "stepping out of the box" ensemble.
