If you've been wanting to draw more out in public, but feel nervous about doing so, might I make a suggestion? Sunday afternoon at Moe's. This is where I sketched and painted [the little clear cups for salsa also work well for watercolors] for nearly 45 minutes yesterday, going almost completely unnoticed with the exception of Jonathan and Grayson [left-side] and a curious gentleman to my right [not pictured] who would quickly look away every time our eyes met. There were SO many children and SO many parents...all blissfully unaware of my existence. It was great. Quite possibly the perfect drawing scenario.

Welcome to Moe'ssss! OH yes...I know the sights, sounds and smells. Great sketching!
i am CRAZY about this one...the colors, the people & their stories, EVERYTHING! LOVE!
I love this - what fun!!!
this is so wonderful!
Great sketch and sounds like a lot of fun. Have to try it myself someday soon. Though probably not at Moe's. ;-)
What kind of pens, colours and paper do you use for this kind of sketches? Just asking since I have fashion drawing class on friday and am currently figuring out what I need. I got pencils, some fineliners, Copic Ciao markers(whew, they are expensive), coal (I just LOVE coal) and different papers.
I don't like to work with water colours, acryl and stuff like this.
Hi San---
I typically use a Pigma Micron felt tip pen. I wouldn't say that they are perfect (as the nibs wear down pretty quickly) but they produce nice lines. I do most every drawing in my sketchbook...which tend to be a variety of different papers. And I use a little set of Winsor and Newton watercolors.
Thanks for the question and good luck with the fashion drawing class. Sounds like fun!
Oh my goodness you are SO good. I can't imagine getting everything in perspective with all those people like that in such a quick amount of time. Wow, maybe one day you'd contribute to my Creative Tuesday? you;d be such an inspiration with your take on things.
agreed! cafe sketching of any kind is the best!
Such a wonderful sketch, just full of activity.
Suzanne - we love it.
