Lately, I've found myself doing a lot of overlapping drawings. I'm not sure what has inspired this, but I'm digging the confusion of the lines. This is from a meeting earlier in the week:
...and this from night before last when Edgar prepared dinner.
Yes, he cooked while I drew. Amazing.

What a great technique and so effective here on this one in particular.
Love it....especially the kitchen sketch; like watching ghosts who've cooked there before. And Edgar, sounds like my Mike. Guess you got a great guy, too!
Some people like the messy and not so perfect look of a drawing. Whatever suits you! ^__^ It's great!
It's brilliant! Life is never about sitting still; life hardly ever sits still. You've conveyed, with overlapping sketches, the movement and vitality of real life.
Love these. Remind me of the illustrations my dad used to do for training slideshows back in the late 60s/early 70s. I'd spend hours looking through them all on our Kodak carousel. I'm kinda on a (Mad Men)nostalgic office life of the past trip, so these fit my day perfectly!
My boyfriend lets me draw while he cooks too! Then I do the dishes afterwards.
your command of the line awes me!
Suzanne,
I think that this is a great idea. I've done something similar to this by starting with random overlapping lines and then pulling out images. You can a drawing done this way here, click here to see image
