While eating lunch out this afternoon, I felt myself being drawn in by these two women sitting a few tables away from me. I could tell that the lady on the right was visibly saddened by the frailness of her ailing mother as she sat patiently waiting for her mom to finish her lunch. I've seen the same look in the eyes of my own mom as she looks after my grandmother. While this role-reversal from care-receiver to caregiver is something that most every child, fortunate enough to grow old along with their parents, must face, it certainly doesn't make it any easier.

nice post and thought baby! I can see your mom giving mamau that look!
Wonderful sketch! So expressive.
What a lovely post, Suzanne. And yes, I've seen that dynamic out in public and experienced it in m own life, as well.
oh suzanne, i love this soooo.

Sujet nouveau... Ne pouvait être abordé dans les années antérieures.
Très jolie scène et regards si expressifs qu'on peut tout y lire...
Bisous
Wow - you really caught her expression. Excellent post.
This made me tear up; my FIL is in an assisted living home near us, but dh is the main caregiver in all the areas that the home doesn't provide. We spend a lot of time with my FIL and it's been really hard and sad to see him deteriorate.
Smashing sketch. What really makes it for me is the walking stick on the chair. It tells the story you want to tell, subtle.
Beautiful, Suzanne. You are right on with this one.
