We're thrilled to be working with one of our favorite North Carolina writers, Elizabeth Hudson, editor of Our State Magazine, on illustrations for an upcoming book. This morning as I was plugging away at this painting of Michael Jordan from his days at Carolina, I got to thinking: if you'd told me a decade[!] ago, when I was a directionless student at UNC, struggling to pass chemistry, that one day I'd be painting basketball games (and getting paid for it) I'd never have believed it. As a friend reminded me, it certainly proves the mantra that 'not all who wander are lost.'...and thankfully, not all of us are meant to be chemists either!
What paths have you taken on your way to becoming the person you are now?

I grew up thinking that I would absolutely be working with wildlife in some capacity. Fast forward, I even graduated with my degree in Environmental Science and Resource Managment. But here I am, working in the Marine Insurance industry as my day job and making jewelry by night. We never know where life takes us.
it's all coming together, one just has to take the time to stir the pot, and have some faith! congratulations - the book sounds fantastic!
I know that the blog can be "one more thing" with all that you have going on, but you will never know how your posts can inspire. Thanks so much.
