Oh, Suzanne--a girl after my own heart. My boyfriend keeps telling me I have too many pairs of shoes, but honestly, special occasions call for special shoes...walking is not the same as dancing, and shoes that go with pants don't always go with skirts. Nice journalling about the whole problem. Keep up the good work.
Such a fun sketch! Great composition and background detail paint and color to move my eyes from one pair of shoes to another. Hmmmm - seems like a shopping trip is coming up....
wow, and i was thinking "she only has 7 pairs of winter shoes? what is that girl thinking!" of course, that's coming from someone who has way too many shoes and hardly uses them -- but they are there in case i NEED them!
I LOVE these shoes! And I'm in NC too and there's an Elizabeth's pizza here! I wonder if we're in the same town? :o)
And the houseplants! Just marvelous, the whole blog is wonderful and I love your blind drawings. I have such fun doing those. Have you read Frederick Franck's book on Zen Seeing/Drawing? If you like blind drawing you'd love it!
We must be sharing a brain cell today. I got home and started checking zappos to see if I could find a cheap pair of the dressier sketchers. This is such a fun layout and idea. Lately I've become a shoe whore, but by necessity - I'm on my feet for 8 hours a day (teaching) and can't wear the payless pleather.
Thanks so much to everyone for their comments! I really enjoyed creating this drawing. I sat in the floor of my closet for 30 minutes or so drawing, painting and criticizing! Oh, the places drawing takes you!
Hysterical! I have a note inside my closet door reminding me to only keep stuff that fits, feels good, and that I love. In another closet I have clothes and shoes I vanquished from my real closet, but can't quite part with, and now you've inspired me to draw them and (hopefully) get rid of them.

What a fun shoe sketch! And commentary. Reminds me of my daughter-the shoe queen.
I laughed outloud, Suzanne. Thank you. Great topic! And ankle boots should be eradicated. I love your Pumas!

Yet another great sketch, Suzanne. Your work is full of humour and charm.
