Can you spot a grumpy beagle? That's what you get when you interrupt Pokey taking a nap. I'm not the only one who's drawing beagles this week. Check out France's beautiful portrait of Jasper. Wow, I love every one of France's posts, but this one really catches my heart.

Yes, Suzanne, all the grumpiness is in that right eye!!! The looseness of the stroke goes so well with the subject. Thank you!!! Can't wait to see pictures (JPEG, PNG, whatever - we're both Mac users, right?).
Tom tells me to tell you that he got bit by a dog once when he was about 10 years old. The dog was a BEAGLE named (are you ready?!) POKEY. Apparently, the dog didn't take too kindly to Tom riding his cousin's Big Wheel.

both of the Pokey drawings are just lovely. you got his mood right on in both. and, yep, he does look grumpy in this one.
