10 Ways to Be a Positive Force
1. think before you speak
2. keep an open mind.
3. discuss rather than argue.
4. cultivate a soothing voice : how you speak often means more than what you say.
5. never lose an opportunity to praise or say a kind word.
6. exceed your employer's expectations.
7. learn to be objective about personal criticism.
8. respect the feelings of others.
9. refuse to discuss the shortcomings of others.
10. let your virtues speak for themselves.
This slightly paraphrased list came in a health and wellness newsletter we received in the mail a few months back. It's hung in my closet since then, as a daily reminder of things to work on, but I thought I'd go ahead and post it here as well.

Thanks, Suzanne. A great reminder of how to start the new year.
I'm sharing this with my grumpy teenager. =) And I love it too!

What a wonderful reminder that I SO needed to hear this evening!
This is a great list! I love #5 and #8. Thanks for posting, Suzanne.
Awesome. #8 is sooo much more important than we realize.
Great advice. I am going to print it out. The drawing is charming.
great drawing suzanne.
I'm copying this list also, since my joking nature often offends people who don't know me well.
What a great list! Thanks for sharing.
Please note that I just updated the list. I unintentionally left one way off - 7. Learn to be objective about personal criticism...ha!
I love your notes to self. All these things are easy to do when I'm feeling great. But let my emotions get the better of me and things can start popping out of my mouth I;d never say otherwise. Thanks for the list.
