tuesday, the 8 o'clock hour

On Tuesday night I took advantage of commercial breaks during Lost to draw the things, people knomes and pets around me.
the 8 o'clock hour
As someone interested in telling stories with drawings, I'm struck by how much information little doodles like this can convey. I definitely won't forget an otherwise 'unforgettable' hour as a result. A fun exercise and DEFINITELY something I want to do more of.

I'd love if you'd join me in this challenge! Choose one hour this week to document in sketches. Leave a comment here with a link to your post and I'll create a master list of the 'one-hour exercises' that I'll post next Thursday [February 25].

This is a great idea I'll have to try. All of these are wonderful, but I love the dogs ... I can almost hear the drool hitting the ground!

I just love your blog!! These are great drawings, as well.

Though I'm not a visual artist, I totally relate to this kind of artwork (the kind with time limits, incorporated for frequency). Since I write and post a poem on my site every day, I spend between 30-75 minutes writing every weekday...it is so good for one's brain, and it is a good way to quiet an inner critic (perhaps by strengthening my artistic voice).

I also love the quote you have posted about what we would try if we didn't fear failing...rah, rah!!

Thanks for the challenge!!
Just finished mine - took a bit longer than an hour to colour because I got a bit distracted...

Hi Suzanne! Great idea! I saw this post before I went away with girlfriends for the weekend, and I knew I'd have some sketching time. Here are my sketches while window shopping:

The ideal opportunity came up today to do this. An hour to fill, and your idea to fill it.

Thanks.
