venice part 5: beautiful, beautiful city

When we first arrived in Venice Addie told me to let her know anytime a goofy grin appeared on her face so that she could take steps to remove it. I wish I could have helped her more, but unfortunately, the city caused me to suffer from the same "goofy grin syndrome."

the soft lines smoothly morphing into shadows, even smeared here and there with a finger or erazer : definitely a technique useful for the long haul; one can even give a drawing light fixing (even cheap hair lacquer can be used - tip for travellers)- and when its dry, proceed with , say, china ink, or even filt pen, if more precision is needed -
wonderful views, I love the drawings, Youve brought the whole feeling to me, even the soft sea mists!!

Suzanne,
I love seeing your Venice sketches - and also seeing you in the process of sketching in the wonderful photo album. I think I actually looked at all 300+ because I so adore Venice. I hope you still have more drawings to upload....

Oh, it IS a beautiful beautiful city, and these are beautiful beautiful drawings! I love the angle of the lower one, with the sidewalk and wall to the left -- just fantastic!

Suzanne, another great pair of sketches--Venice certainly inspired you! I checked out Addie's photos (I think they were hers) and had such fun seeing you all having a fabulous time. Your smile is radiant.

These are both gorgeous. Are either of these the drawing you were showing us in the photos??

These are both fantastic. A lot of feeling and yet an amazing amount of economy too. I like how the perspective leads my eye into the sketch. Really great.
